New West London Centre of Excellence for SFTF
Our Beginnings
The journey to create a Centre of Excellence for weightlifting in West London was one of determination, teamwork, and perseverance. It took three years to turn our dream into a reality. This included navigating countless meetings, application processes, fundraising, council planning, and building regulations. After designing, equipping, painting, and decorating, we officially opened our doors as the West London Elite Weightlifting Club, a home for our talented lifters.
This milestone was made possible thanks to the incredible support of:

Achievements (2011–2019)
From 2011 to 2019, Stars for the Future celebrated remarkable success:
- Recognized as British Club of the Year
- Awarded Ealing Coach of the Year
- Produced over 25 British Champions and 50 National Medal Winners
- Set more than 200 National Records at the youth level
- Developed two Olympians, a Commonwealth Silver Medalist, and a World Youth Bronze Medalist
Challenges and Resilience
The COVID-19 pandemic brought unforeseen challenges, forcing us to close temporarily. However, with the help of London Strength, we reopened in September 2022 as a hybrid club, operating collaboratively and laying the foundation for a stronger future.
Vision for 2025 and Beyond
As we look to the future, our focus is on making weightlifting and fitness accessible to everyone in the community. Our plans include:
- Partnering with schools to integrate strength and conditioning into their PE curriculum
- Supporting local sports clubs as strength and conditioning partners
- Expanding opportunities for women, children, and individuals with special needs
With the support of Everyone Active, Ealing Council, and Ealing MP, we plan to expand our facilities by 70 square meters, providing:
- Inclusive spaces for weightlifting and fitness programs
- Dedicated areas for youth development and community engagement
At Stars for the Future, we believe in the transformative power of sport. Together, we are building a stronger, healthier, and more inclusive community.
